Weeknotes 2026.28
Posted on So 12 Juli 2026 in Blog
Another week. Another short week. This time I took Thursday and Friday off to get on a short vacation.
And on Wednesday the Tour of Austria started in Graz. Therefore, it was a bit of a shorter day as well.
The second short week in a row and the week was full of meetings. So a lot of stuff is still on my stack and I guess the next week will be quite busy.
I added the data breach ticker to the Weeknotes again.
Euclid
Euclid, an ESA-mission I already mentioned a couple of times, has published a blog post about their quasars findings. It is quite impressive, although I didn't understand all the details.

Mullvad
Mullvad is a very good VPN provider. They regularly have security audits and don't collect any data. But it seems like at least one of their founders has supported a far-right party.
- Mullvad funding the far-right and the problem with tech company ownership
- The CEO of Mullvad is the main financer of the Swedish Örebro party
Record fine for Google
Google lost the final appeal and has to pay a $4.7 billion fine.
Europe's top court upholds Google's record $4.7 billion antitrust fine
Tour de France
It was a quite insane first week of the Tour de France. It seems like Tadej Pogačar isonce again a lot stronger than the rest. The attack on the Tourmalet was quite impressive.
In the third place overall is his Teammate Isaac del Toro. UAE is in a quite comfortable situation. Jonas Vingegaard and his team will need to attack, but at the moment it doesn't seem like they could really hurt UAE.
Tour of Austria
On Wednesday the Tour of Austria started in Graz. And at the time of writing, it seems like as Gregor Mühlberger could win the Tour of Austria. Last year Isaac del Toro won.
